Why DFW Airport Remains a Top Choice

As someone who travels more than 150,000 miles a year, airports have become more than just a checkpoint. They’re practically a second home. While delays and cancellations are inevitable, DFW Airport continues to be my preferred starting point. It’s familiar, well-equipped, and even with ongoing construction and occasional disruptions, it still works for me.
The New McKinney National Airport: A Game Changer
A new option is coming soon for travelers in North Texas. McKinney National Airport, situated in Collin County, is poised to become a convenient option, particularly for those residing north of Dallas. While the full list of airlines is still being finalized, the airport promises to alleviate some of the growing pressure on DFW. It’s a welcome development for many and a reflection of the region’s growth.
The Joy of Spending Time in Airports
I may be in the minority, but I enjoy spending time in airports. When the amenities are right, waiting isn’t a burden. DFW offers everything I expect, including lounges, shopping, dining, and even quiet suites to rest. I’ve also grown fond of other major hubs like O’Hare and Denver, despite the long walks between terminals. LAX has made it to my favorites list, too, once I manage to get in and out efficiently. My least favorite? MIA. It’s sprawling and complex, but I’ve still found pockets where I can sit, reflect, and people-watch.
International Airports Worth Mentioning
Internationally, Heathrow stands out. The wide range of restaurants, luxury shopping, and top-tier lounges like American Flagship and American Express elevate the travel experience. These amenities make long layovers more enjoyable and less stressful.
The Importance of Comfort in Travel
So why reflect on this now? A recent study ranked Minneapolis-St. Paul as the least stressful airport in the U.S., citing low cancellations, short TSA wait times, and competitive ticket prices. But for frequent flyers like me, stress-free travel is also about how you use the time. A good airport offers comfort, convenience, and even joy.
The Role of Global Travel in Business
At Bracane, global travel is essential. Our work takes us from penthouse offices with espresso bars to remote locations with poor ventilation and limited resources. Regardless of the setting, our commitment to excellence remains the same. We show up prepared, resilient, and ready to deliver.
The Transition of Pilots to Healthcare
I recently learned how many pilots have transitioned into healthcare, which made me smile. I’m not one of them. I don’t fly planes, I don’t guide trains, and I certainly can’t drive everywhere I need to be. But I can make the most of wherever I land, and I always pray for safe travels.
Finding Purpose in Every Journey
Wherever your journey takes you, may you find purpose and peace in the process. Travel is not just about reaching a destination; it’s about the experiences along the way. Embrace the moments, both good and bad, as they shape your journey.
